Auditor General Exposes Nakuru Rot

Auditor General report exposes millions wasted in Nakuru as leaders enjoy luxuries while hospitals and mothers suffer.

Auditor General Exposes the Rot in Nakuru

The latest Auditor General’s report has unmasked the shocking truth about how Nakuru County is being run. In just one financial year, KShs. 366 million of public money was squandered on endless local trips and allowances, while another KShs. 22.5 million was blown away on foreign travel. Instead of channeling these resources to hospitals, schools, and water projects, our leaders chose to fund luxury lifestyles. This is the face of leadership that is out of touch with the realities of the people.

Leaders Living in Luxury, People Left to Suffer

While billions are wasted on per diems, hotel stays, and first-class flights, the people of Nakuru are left to struggle with broken healthcare systems, unfinished roads, and failing basic services. Mothers in rural areas are forced to deliver babies on dusty roads without proper medical care. Some women are detained in hospitals because they cannot pay maternity fees. These are not stories from decades ago—they are the painful daily realities of families in Nakuru today.

Arrogance and Insult to Nakuru Mothers

As if this waste was not enough, the Governor herself openly boasted that she flew to the USA to give birth, claiming that Nakuru nurses were not “good enough” for her. This statement is not just arrogance; it is contempt for the hardworking health workers of Nakuru who serve our people with dedication despite limited resources. It is an insult to the mothers who risk their lives daily in underfunded hospitals, waiting for a government that has abandoned them.

The Naked Truth About Nakuru’s Leadership

The naked truth is this: Nakuru is run by leaders who see themselves as superior, while treating wananchi as expendable. They have turned county government into a private playground where money meant for public development is splashed on personal luxuries. This is why billions worth of projects remain incomplete. This is why youth empowerment programs are stalled. This is why job opportunities are drying up. Leaders are flying high while wananchi are sinking deeper into hardship.

2027: Time to Reclaim Nakuru

Come 2027, Nakuru must make a choice: do we continue funding their luxuries, or do we reclaim our county for the people? CPA Geoffrey Gitau Mwangi has made it clear; the fight is not about power for its own sake, but about returning dignity, accountability, and service to Nakuru. It is about ensuring that every shilling of public money works for the wananchi, not for the privileged few. Together, we can end arrogance, reject corruption, and build a Nakuru where every mother, every youth, every farmer, and every worker is valued. The future is in our hands, and the time to act is now. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1FCyd1Jezp/
